Hashem Mekki

Hashem Mekki is the Founder and President of Kele Global, a nonprofit dedicated to building youth engagement and capacity in Africa, with a focus on Uganda, Sudan, and South Sudan. Based in Kampala, Uganda, Mr. Mekki is an experienced international policy analyst and educator, with expertise in Arabic linguistics and Middle East and African political affairs.

He also works as an Arabic Professor at the Institute of World Politics, and as a Arabic Language Instructor with Mele Associates through a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy. His diverse background includes communications and events management at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, legal and medical Arabic-English translation, and support for refugees and asylum seekers.
